Say goodbye to dry hair

Say goodbye to dry hair

The most common ingredient among adult shampoos is sodium lauryl sulfate. And it is a very commonly known fact that sulfates are a drying agent, and they affect human hair as well. People, who have little knowledge about this entire chemistry of shampoo ingredients, choose otherwise. Whereas, for a layman, these technical details of the ingredients used are a lot to digest. When it comes to baby shampoos, they contain amphoteric surfactants that help in cleaning the scalp of the babies. The reason for including this information is because this ingredient does not harm the scalp of babies with dryness. Therefore, the scalp of babies is never dry after being shampooed.

No more chemicals

No more chemicals

As stated earlier, baby shampoos are free of any chemicals, which may harm the scalp of human beings. It is one of the most convincing facts for any person looking for their hair health and grooming. The adult human scalp is filled with more dust and other harmful agents that need a thorough cleaning. This is the reason that the companies are including chemicals, which act as a cleaning agent to destroy these harmful agents. But to answer the question is baby shampoo good for adults, then the answer to it is yes it is completely safe because there are very few chemicals used in them. What are the disadvantages for adults using baby shampoo?

Effectiveness

Although there is a lot of effort being put into R&D for baby shampoos, its effectiveness is less than adult shampoos. Therefore, the effectiveness of baby shampoos can be questioned whether or not they can be used on adults. The human scalp is a sensitive part of an adult human body but still, it is not as sensitive as a baby, so although baby shampoo can be used by adults, but it will not produce the desired results.

Cleaning your hair more than once

Cleaning your hair more than once

Since there are fewer chemicals used in the baby shampoo, it is very common for an adult to wash their hair more than once. The reason behind this is that baby shampoos do not produce as much lather as required by the adult human scalp. Another reason for shampooing more than once is that people have to make sure that their hair is completely rinsed off of any harmful agents. With a mild use of chemicals in the baby shampoos, the adult human scalp can be left unclean.

The question of hair growth

The question of hair growth

Many people believe that since baby shampoos are gentle for the human scalp, they are meant for hair growth as well. Whatever the reason for this belief is, there is no scientific evidence to support it.

If someone wants to enjoy the gentle tap of baby shampoo on their adult scalp, there is no known harm in doing so. There are many baby shampoos to choose from as they are harmless.

  1. Thanks for the article. I shared it with some of my friends. The thing is that the water you use for showering is as important as the shampoo and hair care products. Having lived in New Jersey with hard water, I can tell that it’s a pain in the neck to use hard water (which has chlorine) to shower with. The hair starts to fall and get dandruff, and also the skin feels dry and cracky. So it is crucial that we use a shower filter. Plenty of them could be found on Amazon, but the one I got was on sale for $20 and the brand was Captain Eco. It is a shower filter of high caliber. Highly recommended. Thanks for reading my comment.
